Nuts are fasteners with threaded holes, and used with a matching bolt to hold multiple parts together. They come in various shapes and sizes, the most common shape being hexagonal as it gives sufficient amount of angles and the number of rotations required to obtain the next side is significantly low. However, they remain vulnerable to becoming loose over time as the hexagonal nuts offer optimal grip. Like all fasteners, nuts are also manufactured depending upon their uses.
